My name is Tyler Jeter, and basketball has been part of my life since I was six years old. Growing up in Charlotte, I started at Statesville Road Elementary, and from the beginning, the court felt like home. I was usually the biggest and strongest out there, but I never wanted to rely on that. I pushed myself to develop real skill, learn the game, and earn everything through hard work.
At Ranson Middle School, basketball became more serious. I learned discipline, how to handle competition, and how to stay focused even when things got challenging. This is when I started studying the NBA and watching how great players moved, created space, and controlled the game.
I began high school at West Charlotte, a place with real basketball culture. West Charlotte pushed me every day, teaching me effort, toughness, and what it means to be coachable. Later, I transferred to Mallard Creek High School, where I currently play as a guard. Mallard Creek gave me a fresh opportunity to elevate my game. I’ve improved my handles, shooting, decision-making, and overall confidence. I’m learning how to lead, communicate, and bring energy every time I step on the court.
AAU basketball also shaped me. Playing for Bigger Than Basketball (BTB) helped me compete against high level talent from everywhere. It taught me mental toughness, focus, and how to stay ready for any matchup.
Off the court, I study the game constantly. My favorite players: Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Dražen Petrović—influence my style and mindset. I’m also a number keeper who loves stats, records, and knowing who the real NBA dogs are.
Basketball has taught me discipline, focus, and how to push through challenges. I’m committed to improving every day and chasing the opportunity to play at the next level. My story is still being written, and I’m working every day to make the next chapter even stronger.
